Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
With remote training, partners do not have to be in the same location. For example, a mother and daughter can train together from anywhere in the world via Zoom. Remote sessions: $75/hour Private sessions: $85-$90/hour Partner sessions: $125/hour Group training: $150/session

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Our first meeting is a complimentary on-site or phone consult, during which we gather information on medical history, lifestyle, current fitness level and goals, as well as answer any questions you might have. It’s also a great chance to explore whether it feels like a good fit. The information we gather is used to design a fitness program oriented around your particular goals, schedule, interests and current health and fitness level.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

As the owner and founder of Evolve, I am an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and an RYS Yoga Instructor with particular interest in strength training, body-positive fitness, endurance sport nutrition and mind/body health. I've been a (sometimes competitive) distance runner since age thirteen, have taught a children’s running program for 10-14 year olds, and have studied and been committed to fitness for over thirty years. I hold a Masters Degree in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University, where my thesis work focused on the holistic treatment of eating disorders, and my work as a fitness professional is grounded in 25 years of experience as a meditator and mindfulness practitioner. I firmly believe in the transformative power of mind/body strength. Our Evolve team of trainers bring similar backgrounds in traditional personal training and fitness coaching, as well as training and tools that address the whole person and the mind/body connection. Everyone on the Evolve team holds one or more professional fitness certifications, as well as a bachelor's or master's degree in related fields of study (psychology, kinesiology). We place a strong emphasis on continuing to learn and grow as fitness professionals through continuing education in Functional Aging, TRX, HIIT, Yoga and Nutrition.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have experienced for myself the value and importance of maintaining strength, flexibility and endurance, through my 20's, 30's and now 40's, and it is an ever-changing and continually valuable path. I also know the challenge of prioritizing time for health and self-care amidst life's busy pace. This work and this business grew from my desire to support others in staying active and strong, because I believe it dramatically impacts how we live and experience our lives. Our goal as a team is to offer the best in personal training, to make it convenient for clients to stay healthy, fit and active and to deliver seriously challenging workouts that are a lot of fun.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Our clients have ranged from 10 years old to 90+ years old, including every fitness level. We work with clients who have major athletic goals and healthy weight loss goals; who want to build muscle or strengthen bones; who are recovering from injuries or illness, training for marathons, or are brand new to using weights. We work with postpartum moms, busy professionals and students, and corporate groups. We love to help our clients build health and strength, and surprise themselves by what their bodies are capable of. We believe that movement can be magic.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
